19 fellows were sponsored in 2021 and 6 were able to visit MEL under pandemic guidelines. Among them, Prof. Zhisheng An, academician of the CAS Institute of the Earth Environment, was awarded the Zhengzhong Distinguished Visiting Fellowship. During his visit, he delivered a Nanqiang Lecture entitled "Examples of Research on Global Change and Multi-layer Interaction" and interacted with the young scientists.
