Williams教授个人简介:

Gray Williams research interests include herbivore-algal interactions, foraging behaviour and the ecophysiology of rocky shore invertebrates, especially molluscs. He arrived in Hong Kong to join the Swire Marine Laboratory after completing his PhD and Post Doctoral research in the UK working on temperate shore littorinids. Since then he has spent most of his time describing community patterns and dynamics on the understudied shores of tropical SE Asia, with a focus on the role of thermal stress in driving community structure. One pattern that has emerged from this work is the poor knowledge and underestimation of regional biodiversity in the rocky intertidal zone. As a result, he has recently become interested in developing regional scale collaborations to identify species distribution patterns and understand how these are related to past environmental events, present day conditions and future climate change scenarios.
