赵教授的报告摘要:
Examination of operational or semi-operational products of surface turbulent fluxes show a strong ENSO signal and a decadal increase which is interpreted as the intensification of the atmospheric Hadley circulation (Chiu et al., 2008). These satellite products are based on the Special Sensor Microwave Imager (SSM/I) on board the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program satellites and pre-processed by Remote Sensing System (RSS). The SSM/I data have been reprocessed by RSS to account for inter-satellite differences. A new version of the NASA/GSFC Sea Surface Turbulent Flux (GSSTF2b) has been released recently. The new version shows sustained elevated SLHF, with a lower bias. The decrease is shown to be related to a dryer atmospheric surface layer.
A version 3 of GSSTF with 3 hourly and 0.25 degree resolution is in development (Shie et al., 2009). The potential of this satellite product for air-sea interaction studies such as rapid typhoon intensification forecast is discussed (Gao and Chiu, 2009, IJRS).
